Today marks five years since the bombing at Abbey Gate, one of the entrances to Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. On August 26, 2021, in the chaos of America's final withdrawal from Afghanistan, a suicide bomber affiliated with ISIS-K detonated explosives in the middle of a crowd desperate to escape the country. Thirteen U.S. service members were killed. So were more than 170 Afghan civilians, men, women and children who had spent days standing in sewage canals and crushing crowds for the smallest chance of a seat on a plane out.

It is easy, five years later, to let that day become a statistic, a line in a broader story about the end of a twenty year war. But at Abbey Gate there was...

It has been shaped in churches, town halls, school board meetings, and communities where ordinary citizens accepted an extraordinary responsibility to lead.

When Americans organize, stand their ground, and act with conviction, they create examples that can change the direction of the entire nation.

MAMA: Make America Manufacture Again

A nation that cannot manufacture what it needs cannot remain strong, secure, or independent.

In 1979, nearly 19.6 million Americans worked in manufacturing. Today, that number has fallen to approximately 12.6 million. Behind that decline are shuttered factories, weakened communities, broken supply chains, and a dangerous dependence on foreign nations for products essential to our economy and national defense.

America must once again become a nation that builds. We must produce our own steel, machinery, medicine, technology, energy infrastructure, and defense equipment. Restoring American manufacturing is not about looking backward. It is about securing our future.

American strength must be built by American workers, in American communities, on American soil.
